When Should Your Child Have an Orthodontic Evaluation?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic checkup by age 7. This does not mean every child needs braces at age 7. It gives a qualified provider an opportunity to monitor jaw growth, permanent tooth eruption, bite development and spacing while the child is still growing.
