Soocian is a social networking platform that helps people connect, share posts, stories, messages, profiles, communities, media, and other social experiences. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use Soocian, and information from devices, app stores, payment providers, and service providers that help us operate the service.
- Account information: name, username, email address, phone number if provided, password authentication data, profile photo, language, country, and account settings.
- Profile and social information: biography, gender, birthday, relationship status, work, education, location fields, followers, friends, pages, groups, events, requests, and privacy preferences.
- User content: posts, comments, reactions, shares, messages, stories, reels, photos, videos, audio, files, links, reports, and any other content you upload or send.
- Messages and calls: message content, attachments, conversation metadata, call status, call type, call duration, and technical information needed to provide audio or video calling. We do not use private messages for advertising targeting.
- Photos, videos, audio, and files: media you choose to upload, attach, record, or share. Device media permissions are used only when you choose media-related features.
- Contacts and connections: information you provide or authorize to help find friends, send requests, or connect with other users.
- Location information: approximate or precise location only when you provide it, enable location features, or when it is inferred from IP address for security, localization, and fraud prevention.
- Payment and subscription information: purchase status, subscription plan, transaction identifiers, wallet balance activity, invoices, payout details, and payment method metadata. Full card numbers are processed by payment providers or app stores and are not stored by Soocian.
- Device and technical information: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, time zone, push notification identifiers, advertising or device identifiers where permitted, crash logs, diagnostics, cookies, and usage logs.
- Safety and support information: reports, moderation actions, support requests, verification information, abuse-prevention signals, and communications with us.
2. How We Use Information
- To create, authenticate, secure, and manage your account.
- To provide core social features including feeds, profiles, messaging, calls, stories, notifications, search, recommendations, pages, groups, events, and media sharing.
- To process subscriptions, wallet activity, paid content, tips, creator monetization, withdrawals, refunds where applicable, and fraud checks.
- To personalize your experience, show relevant content, remember preferences, and improve ranking and discovery.
- To send service messages, push notifications, account alerts, safety notices, and support replies.
- To monitor, debug, analyze, improve, and protect the reliability and security of Soocian.
- To detect spam, fraud, abuse, policy violations, illegal content, child sexual abuse material, and other harmful activity.
- To comply with laws, respond to legal requests, enforce our Terms, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Soocian, users, and the public.
3. How Information Is Shared
- With other users: information and content you post publicly or share with selected audiences may be visible to those audiences.
- With service providers: hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, email, SMS, content moderation, payment processing, fraud prevention, and customer support providers may process data for us.
- With app stores and payment providers: Apple, Google, Stripe, PayPal, banks, or other payment partners may receive purchase and transaction data needed to process payments, verify purchases, prevent fraud, and handle refunds or disputes.
- For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information to comply with law, legal process, regulatory requests, safety reporting obligations, or to protect users and the public.
- With your direction or consent: for example, when you share content to another app, connect a third-party service, or request support.
- Business transfers: if Soocian is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to appropriate safeguards.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the service, measure performance, and improve features. You can control some cookies through your browser or device settings, but disabling them may affect functionality.
5. Payments, Subscriptions, and App Stores
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by those stores under their own payment, subscription, cancellation, and refund rules. Soocian receives purchase identifiers and subscription status needed to activate or manage your account features. Purchases made through supported payment providers are processed by those providers under their privacy practices.
6. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Soocian, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Some information may remain in backups, logs, audit records, transaction records, or legal archives for a limited period after deletion.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may access, update, correct, or delete certain account information from your settings. You may control post audiences, notification settings, privacy settings, and device permissions. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. We may need to verify your identity before processing requests.
8. Children and Teen Safety
Soocian is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required by local law. We remove accounts and content when we learn they violate age or child safety requirements. We report child sexual abuse material and child exploitation concerns to appropriate authorities where required by law.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit where supported. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should use a strong password and protect your account credentials.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect information transferred internationally.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method. Your continued use of Soocian after an update means the updated policy applies.
