UAE Generative AI Adoption Expands as Digital Services and Enterprise Automation Advance

Generative artificial intelligence creates new text, images, software code, audio, designs, and other digital content by learning patterns from existing information. Across the UAE, organisations are exploring these capabilities to automate routine work, improve customer interactions, support decision-making, and accelerate content production. Adoption is developing across government services, banking, healthcare, retail, education, media, tourism, and technology operations.

A recent study by MarkNtel Advisors highlights that the UAE generative AI sector was valued at USD 84.92 million in 2025 and reached USD 98.27 million in 2026. It is projected to grow to USD 235.98 million by 2032, registering a CAGR of 15.72% during 2026–2032. Expansion reflects digital transformation, government adoption, enterprise automation, cloud infrastructure, and demand for Arabic-language AI applications.

Government Services Encourage Practical Adoption

Public organisations are using generative AI to simplify access to information and improve digital service delivery. Virtual assistants can respond to common questions, guide users through administrative processes, summarise information, and provide multilingual support across online portals.

The UAE Government’s guidance on artificial intelligence in government policies identifies generative AI as a tool for providing information about public services and streamlining interactions. Such applications can reduce repetitive enquiries while helping government employees concentrate on cases that require human judgement.

Digital-Economy Goals Strengthen AI Investment

Generative AI adoption is developing within the UAE’s wider effort to strengthen its digital economy. Businesses are investing in cloud platforms, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, and digital customer channels that can support AI-powered applications.

The national Digital Economy Strategy aims to increase the digital economy’s contribution to gross domestic product from 9.7% in 2022 to 19.4% within ten years. This broader direction creates a supportive environment for AI tools that improve productivity, service quality, and digital business development.

Enterprises Use AI Across Daily Workflows

Companies can apply generative AI to produce first drafts, summarise documents, classify customer messages, generate software code, prepare internal knowledge responses, and assist employees with information retrieval. Marketing teams may use it for content development, while customer-service departments can integrate conversational systems into digital support channels.

The technology can also help analysts organise large volumes of unstructured information. However, generated outputs require review because systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unsupported responses. Human oversight remains necessary when decisions involve legal, financial, medical, or operational consequences.

Arabic-Language Capabilities Broaden Accessibility

The UAE serves a multilingual population, creating demand for AI systems that can work effectively in Arabic and English while recognising regional terminology and communication styles. Better Arabic-language models can improve public information, education, media production, customer support, and internal workplace tools.

Localised systems must do more than translate words. They need to understand cultural context, dialect variation, formal government language, and application-specific vocabulary. Continued investment in regional datasets and model evaluation can improve the reliability of generative AI across local use cases.

Banking and Retail Explore Personalised Services

Financial institutions can use generative AI to assist customer-service teams, summarise account enquiries, support document processing, and provide employees with faster access to internal information. Retailers can apply similar tools to product descriptions, customer questions, recommendation systems, and multilingual shopping assistance.

These applications depend on strong data controls. Sensitive personal, payment, and business information should not be exposed to systems without appropriate security, access restrictions, and governance. Organisations must also ensure that generated recommendations do not create unfair or misleading outcomes.

Responsible Use Requires Clear Governance

Generative AI can create convincing but inaccurate content, reproduce bias, expose confidential data, or generate material that is difficult to distinguish from human-created work. Responsible deployment therefore requires testing, monitoring, transparency, and clearly assigned accountability.

The UAE Government provides a collection of official AI resources, including guidance on AI adoption, ethics, deepfakes, hardware infrastructure, and practical generative AI applications. These materials reflect the increasing importance of combining innovation with structured governance.

Government Portals Demonstrate Applied Generative AI

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority has integrated generative AI into government digital services. Its development of the U.Ask virtual assistant extended generative AI capabilities across official portals to improve access to government information and service guidance.

Such initiatives demonstrate how generative AI can move beyond experimentation into practical, citizen-facing applications. They also create requirements for accurate source information, secure infrastructure, continuous testing, and processes for escalating complex requests to human representatives.

Skills and Governance Shape Future Adoption

UAE generative AI adoption is becoming increasingly connected with public-service modernisation, enterprise productivity, digital commerce, and multilingual communication. Its long-term value will depend on whether organisations can integrate the technology into useful workflows rather than adopting it only for experimentation.

Future development will require skilled employees, dependable cloud and data infrastructure, strong cybersecurity, transparent governance, and regular output evaluation. As adoption expands, the organisations achieving the most reliable results will be those that combine generative capabilities with human expertise, verified information, and clearly defined responsibilities.
